Evaluation

Time for me to get on my soapbox again. Like the other two novellas before it, this had the same confusing point of view switching, but this time with more than two characters *huffs* Whereas the others seemed really fast paced, this one seemed a tad slower. It had a good positive character arch with Rita. But Rita! In my opinion (and yours may vary), I didn’t like Rita. This spoiled the story for me, because if you’ve read most of my reviews, you probably know characters mean a great deal to me. She was a rude, moody, angry roller-coaster. Truthfully, I don’t know what Mark sees in her! Thankfully, due to the good arch, she got better. But still.

Conclusion

So in conclusion, I didn’t like this novella, so I’m giving it a 2/5. Out of the three novellas, my favourite is number two, Destiny’s Road (see last week’s review). But if you like dogsled racing stories, moody heroines, then you may vary well enjoy this story. Well, until next week! Stay tuned for Christmas themed posts!
