A Christmas Cabin Review
It’s Christmas Eve and there’s a stalker in the woods.
Merry Christmas and Hanukah-ish, everyone! Or at least it’s getting there 😉
It’s the time of year for snow, hot chocolate, twinkly lights, and suspense! Yes, suspense. Today’s review is on The Christmas Cabin, a contemporary Christian suspense set in the mountains of British Columbia, my home province! That makes this novella extra special to me 🥰
Summary
When Carla James flies home for the holidays at her family’s cozy Canadian cabin, she has no idea what—or who—awaits. But after five years serving at her beloved Mexican orphanage, it’s time to work through forgiveness, face her fears, and reclaim Christmas.
Up-and-coming chef, Rhys Templeton, still regrets leaving a heartbroken Carla in the past and is desperate to confess his truth and make amends. But her own shocking revelation has the potential to either send him spiraling back to his destructive lifestyle or into Carla’s arms.
However, someone else is privy to Carla’s chilling secret and they’re out there watching. Waiting. Wanting. Time is running out like melting snowflakes. And now, if Carla ever wants to see another Christmas, she needs all the grace and grit she can muster to trust the one who deserted her and the One who promised never to leave.

Evaluation
I don’t know if I’ve ever read a suspense novel. I did start one once, but then got distracted by other shiny books and didn’t go back. Well, maybe I have. Not intentionally, though. Are mysteries considered suspense? Anyways!
I enjoyed reading this Christmas novella. It kept me on my toes, what was going to happen next?! I liked the descriptions the author used to describe the scenery. I also liked how it’s a novella and a physical book. Most novella are ebooks or published in a collection. Some are also very fast paced and choppy, but I found The Christmas Cabin had perfect pacing.
Conclusion
So in conclusion, I quite enjoyed this short Christmas read, in which case I give it a 4/5 rating. If you like novellas, second-chance romance, Christian suspense, then I recommend this story to you or a loved one even. It would make a great little gift or stocking stuffer. It’s the perfect size!
