Book Blind Date Essentials
Book blind date? There’s such a thing? Yes. Believe it or not, there is such a thing as a blind date with a book. And as a single, introvert female, this sounds like the perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day.
But first of all, what is a book blind date? It is simply buying a book cover and blurb unseen and making an occasion out of it. But how do you buy a book cover and blurb unseen? Usually these books come wrapped in paper with a sentence, hint, or the genre written on it. You can probably find some at a bookstore or on Etsy. Here’s some I’ve found on etsy:
You could also just send a friend or family member to buy you a book too. But now onto the essentials for a perfect, “romantic”, book blind date!
A Romance Novel
This is the most important item. Without it, this is all for not! I suggest a romance novel, but if that’s not your vibe, any book will do.
A Warm Drink
Coffee, tea, both! A warm drink is essential to a cozy evening spent with a book. Or maybe you’re not a fan of warm drinks, instead try pop or water or your favourite drink.
A Snack
Chocolate, popcorn, chips, cookies, anything fun to keep hunger at bay and pair nicely with your warm drink.
A Fuzzy Blanket
Grab your softest, warmest blanket and curl up!
A Cozy Nook
Now you’ll need a cozy place to read, whether that’s a couch, chair, bed, etc.
Ambiance
This one isn’t necessarily an essential, but a crackling fire (either real, fake, or a YouTube video) and soft, romantic music playing in your earbuds or the background is perfect for setting the mood.
Other Ideas
You don’t have to do this by yourself either, grab a friend or two to join you. This would make a great Galentine’s Day activity. Buy books for each other instead and spend the day reading together with snacks and cozy blankets. Just have fun 😊
I hope you enjoyed this post and that maybe it gave you some fun ideas. Have you ever done something like this before? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to know.
