Authentically, Izzy Review
*thumps down mug of tea and fold hands* Welcome. Ah, I’m a weird one and proud of it! So don’t mind me if I add actions to my posts.
Carrying on…
Today I give you Authentically, Izzy by Pepper Basham. You can most likely find it (and its two sequels that are still to follow) at your Christian bookstore under romance fiction or Christian fiction.
Summary
Izzy is a quiet, book loving librarian who dreams of owning her own bookshop and is occasionally accosted by her well-meaning family. She is perfectly happy playing it safe, especially when it comes to romance. But then her cousin signs her up on an online dating community where she meets “Mr. Right.” Trouble is, Brodie lives across the ocean, but a perfectly nice (local) professor has asked her out for coffee. Izzy can feel a disaster nipping at her heels.
Evaluation
This book was uniquely written. It’s the first novel I’ve read that was told through a series of emails and texts with a few narrative bits thrown in near the end. The characters were distinct and a joy to get to know, especially Brodie *wink* And plus, the cover! It’s adorable! I love it, one of my favorites on my shelf.
Conclusion
So in conclusion, I really enjoyed this novel. I can’t wait to read the remaining two: Positively Penelope (August 1st, 2023) and Loyally Luke (May 14th, 2024). My rating is 5/5. If you enjoy rom com books, quirky librarians, or adorably nerdy guys, then I recommend this novel to you. And now, I bid thee farewell!
